Floater Assistant Teacher – Hoya Kids Learning Center

Hoya Kids Learning Center is seeking a qualified and professional Floater to support the primary classroom teachers in providing care and early-childhood education to the children of Georgetown University’s Staff, Faculty and Students.

Responsibilities will include assisting teachers in all aspects of managing the classrooms to include:

  • Ensure basic Center and classroom maintenance by washing dishes, preparing snack, changing diapers, cleaning up in the classrooms and on the playground, and other related duties as assigned; 
  • Assist teachers in any classroom in providing an age appropriate child development program and activities;
  • Create and maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children;
  • Comply with Center policies and procedures;
  • Conduct activities that implement an emergent curriculum;
  • Follow directions from any full time staff member with whom they are working.


  • Experience working with children from 18 months to 6 years in a quality early childhood setting. 
  • Possess at a minimum some formal training in Early Childhood Education. 
  • CDAs or higher will be given preference. 

Candidates will be available full time between 9:30 am and 6:00 pm, but flexible to work other full time shifts depending on Center operational needs.  Enthusiasm in working in an environment with young children is required.
